![]() ![]() ![]() Looks as though it has had some minor repairs/modifications. Tailpiece has been replaced with a reproduction "no-knot". If you have any questions, just ask! Condition: Used, Condition: Fair-good condition, 5th string tuner has been replaced, does not seem to be mounted well, but is functional. It seems to be that these were made by Lange for Sears. Due to the age, there are bumps and scrapes and rust and dust but this is a fairly clean functional instrument unlike some of the closet finds that come up. It seems to have a pretty good sound to it, it is surprisingly loud for an open back. There are 22 nickel silver frets that show some wear but not enough to cause a problem. There are 30 brackets on an 11" open back head. The other four tuners looks to be original. I do not think the newer gotoh fifth string tuner is installed all that well, but it seems to be holding. It has been repaired / modified at some point with a newer model fifth string tuner, new shims, grover bridge, and a reproduction "no knot" tailpiece. This old banjo is still in pretty good shape and seems to be playable like it is. Hi, and thanks for looking! This auction is for an antique Sears Supertone #407 Ragtime King five string banjo. Item: 333054334656 1920's Sears Supertone Ragtime King #407 Banjo in Good Condition by Lange.
